ASA BASEBALL PROGRAM

NOTE: All NFHS playing rules apply with the following exceptions:
Equipment

(1) Senior League bats can be used in 14-U and below play.

(2) No metal cleats allowed in 12-under and below.

(3) No jewelry of any kind.



Pitching


(1) No re-entry of pitcher. Once the pitcher is removed from the game as a pitcher, he can't return as a pitcher in the same game.

(2) All pitching records are the responsibility of that pitchers coach.

(3) The amount of pitching is strictly enforced. ASA pitching charts are available at every tournament.

(4) The Umpire will turn in the "Innings Pitched Card" at the end of the game.

(5) One (1) pitch constitutes an inning pitched.

(6) Restrictions:
....9u - 6 innings
..10u - 7 innings
..11u - 8 innings
..12u - 9 innings
..13u & above - 10 innings.


Run Rules
9u thru 12u - 15 after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5
13u & up - 15 after 4, 10 after 5, 8 after 6.
Line-up
&
Substitution


(1) A team can bat as few as 9 and as many as a coach desires.

(2) A team can freely substitute any player listed on the pre-game line up card.

(3) A team can start with 8 players but can't play with less than 8.


Speed-up
Rules


(1) The last out made in the previous inning can run for the pitcher or catcher at any time.

(2) Each team must have players shag foul balls on their side of dugout area.

(3) There will be no stalling for time to meet or overcome game time limit.


Protests

 

(1) All questions of rules will be directed to home plate umpire with notation of inning and outs. Home plate umpire will continue game until site director is notified and makes a ruling. No game shall be stopped to wait on ruling.
If objection is deemed correct, game will return to inning and out of objection.

(2) All decisions by site directors are final. There are no protests.
